Having, Coping, and Overcoming Anxiety

Effects of Anxiety

Anxiety is the most common mental illness. It is more common in women between the ages of 15-24. Struggles with anxiety can impair a person’s ability to get a job and support themselves. It can also affect their ability to socialize with others, shop and do errands, drive, and form relationships. Experiencing an anxiety attack can make someone susceptible to having another attack. It can also lead to other mental and physical conditions such as depression, drug use, difficulty sleeping, stomach issues, headaches, difficulty functioning in life, withdrawal from social situations, difficulties at work or school, and suicide.
